Summary of this Book...
This is the 2nd in a series by Eric Ugland call "The Good Guys." Note that I did listen to this as an audio book. I didn't read it.

I listened to the 1st book and loved it. The character is snarky and sarcastic, though he reigns it in a good bit by the 2nd book. This is a story about a not-so-good guy who gets sent into a role playing game and has to learn to live life in that world. It's a world a bit like World of Warcraft, if you are familiar with that.

In this 2nd book, he's already joined a caravan (in the 1st book) and is continuing on his journey with his companions. There is a spy among them and the leader is on a secret mission that involves the main character, Montana, more than he realizes.

The book includes general game situations like encountering a monster, shooting a spell to find out what it is and what level it is, then killing it with whatever weapons you can. He even has a character sheet that he reviews from time to time, though not nearly as often in this book. Last time I thought he did it too much, but probably because I was listening to an audio book and couldn't skip through the parts of the character sheet I already knew. This book I think he didn't review it quite enough--maybe twice in the whole book. At one point they were facing some monsters and we knew their level, but I couldn't remember Montana's level. Though I have a bad memory, so maybe it's just me.
This type of Book is good for...
This book is great for folks interested in role playing games and books based on the fantasy genre.
I especially liked...
I especially liked the main character's smart alec attitude at times. I found him quite funny, but it is admittedly toned down some in this book. Perhaps it's a reflection of character growth. Or maybe the author just wasn't in the snarky mood he was when writing the 1st one. lol
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Go on to the 3rd book in the series. I'll be starting it tomorrow and can't wait!
This Book made me feel...
Eager to listen to the next book.
The n/a of this Book...
Has a fun, unique style of writing. He uses words in creative ways and imagines things I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. I really enjoy his books!
