Summary of this Book...

This novella is about a little girl who inherits a special button box. She doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do with it, nor what most of its buttons and levers do. She doesn’t know why she’s inherited it either but it becomes an obsession that takes over her thoughts for years.
This type of Book is good for...

Someone who likes mysteries and fantasy would enjoy this short tale of a magic box. It’s also a bit psychological thinking of how it affects the mind of Gwendy considering what she knows it can do.
I especially liked...

Delving into the psychological aspects of what responsibilities that Gwendy held in her hand with this box. The thoughts and considerations she took into when deciding on using the box or not.
I didn't like...

I have to come back to one of Sai King’s issues when writing stories, especially shorter ones-- His endings leave a lot to be desired and this one is no different. We’re left wondering why the man in the Bowler hat chose Gwendy, what was so special about her, and exactly what did those other buttons do that we didn’t explore?
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...

Have my own button box of course. I would do a lot more exploring than Gwendy did though I admit!
This Book made me feel...

Adventurous and curious. I was so darn curious about Gwendy’s box and you will be too. It left me feeling adventurous both for myself and my own writing. You continue through the story wanting to know what else is going to happen with this curious box.
The author of this Book...

Stephen King is good for throwing a good plot idea out there, not always great at finishing it in a way that leaves us satisfied. But he wrote this with another author Richard Chizmar, someone I’d never heard of but that King admired enough to ask help him finish this novella when he couldn’t. Turns out that Richard Chizmar is turning this into a Trilogy and the 2nd book is actually being released Jan 21st, 2020, so maybe we’ll find out more about Gwendy and her button box yet.
I recommend this Book because...

It is a fun creepy and fantasy type story that keeps you hooked with curiosity and human nature.
I don't recommend this Book because...

If you don’t like a book ending that leaves you less than satisfied. I’m not sure if a trilogy will end up answering more questions yet but it is my only issue with this book.
Further Comments...
The second book in the trilogy is called "Gwendy's Magic Feather". It sounds interesting and I've added to my "to read" list.
