Summary of this Book...
Highly imaginative. Short with only 152 pages and a very readable story. Clear storytelling and to-the-point type of writing. Lots of lessons in it, even if most of them one learns through the process of living.

The problem-solving part and making friends out of rivals idea are excellent. I think it would make a good gift for a teenager or a child of about nine-ten years of age, and possibly to everyone in the government business in Washington DC.

It is not only lessons from a dog, however. There is a story with a good plot and some quite-well developed characters.

I was worried at one time that, after halfway through the book, the dog Happy would die at the end, but the ending was another lesson to learn from Happy and it was a happy ending. I am grateful that the author let Happy/Greta live on. I don't take well to dogs' dying, especially in fiction.

Then, I also liked it because decades ago, I used to tell my kids that our Newfoundland Joe (now RIP) talked to me and told to tell them what to do, which worked pretty well for us all. Who else but a dog would know what to do and how things work deep down inside?

This type of Book is good for...
Reading in one or two sittings.
I especially liked...
the dog's idea of finding love in anything
The n/a of this Book...
is Jonathan Robinson, a psychotherapist, best-selling author of ten books, and a professional speaker from Northern California
I recommend this Book because...
It is easy to read and anything that has to do with dogs may appeal to most readers.
Further Comments...
It does get preachy sometimes but never for long. I also would have liked the relationships among the humans could have been fleshed out more to make the book a more literary one.
I understand the author's stance, however, and don't fault him since what he wrote serves his purposes well since he is a psychotherapist and he is just using the dog as a front.
