Summary of this Book...
This is the latest in the Maisie Dobbs detective series. It was released in March. It is not my favorite in her series, but it was good. It took me a long time to get through it - it's not really a page turner. Maisie is called on to solve the murder of an American radio reporter during WW II. Her best friend is critically burned and injured in a rescue during the Blitz in London. At the same time, Maisie is trying to adopt a little girl that she hardly has time for, given her work. She finds romance with an American who has lots of secrets and first appeared in an earlier novel. This one was good, but the mystery of the murder sort of fell flat in the end. The couple behind the killing didn't seem very dangerous even though they did murder the wife's best friend. It was sort of perplexing to me, how it all unfolded so quickly and decisively in the end.
