Part western adventure, part romance and all heart, Mary Conneally crafted an exciting adventure with high stakes for John and Penny. Not only are they both unexpected champions but they're definitely an unexpected match.

This book tells the exciting story of Penny and John's most unusual courtship set in the Sierra Mountain wilderness in the time soon after Nevada became a state.

People looking for a more exciting than average Christian romantic suspense set in the old West. It is overtly Christian in places but I don't think it would be offensive to non-Christians.

Penny's strong character, faith and great reasoning skills. Also that John ended up being such a good match for her. And also that there was so much action and so many twists and turns.

Children in danger (none were hurt though).

Ask Mary (via the Seekerville blog) if she's going to write another one. It was advertised as a series of three so I doubt it. I do enjoy her books.

Like I was living Penny's adventure and like I was brave and adventurous.

Tends to write western romantic comedies but she did a great job with this suspenseful tale.

I enjoyed it.

I rate books according to what they are... a 5 star Christian romance is going to be very different from a 5 star secular thriller. This book was great but in no way does it compare to one of Lisa Gardner's books. That'd be like comparing apples to onions.

I borrowed this book from my library and it was the paperback version. I didn't see an Amazon id number for the paperback version so reviewed the ebook but it should be the same content.
