Summary of this Book...
This book is one of historical fiction about two light house keeper's daughters. One is based on a real character from 1838 and the other is fictional from 1938. The two stories center around lighthouses and daring rescues during storms. The book is very engaging - the characters and their stories drew me in right away. The ending (in 1938) was a bit abrupt, but the one in 1838 was satisfying, although sad. The story is told from the first person point of view and the third person p.o.v. I found that technique to work well and the story flowed from one time period to the next. I enjoyed reading and read it all. When I read now I give books 50 pages to hook me. This one hooked me, drew me in and never let go of me. I would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy historical fiction. This author is a great storyteller and I enjoyed every moment of the reading.
