Summary of this Book...
Jack is five years old and lives with his Mother in a single room. Their days are filled with regular routine activities punctuated by three meals a day and watching the other worlds on the television. Their possessions are meagre and basic, but every Sunday they can look forward to a special Sunday treat. But unbeknowst to Jack, those other worlds are places that really do exist - will he be able to reach them one day? And what will happen if he does?
This type of Book is good for...
People who like stories very focused on characters. Reading whilst travelling or when you want something which is easy to read but still engaging.
I especially liked... | ||
The plot, which was not always predictable. The story is told through the voice of five year old Jack, which gives it an interesting perspective and I liked the way the writer has executed this.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read more by this Author. I have since realised there was a film made of the book, which I am interested to watch, to see how it is interpreted for the screen.
The author of this Book...
Has written several other titles, although they seem to be about quite different topics.
I recommend this Book because...
It is a great read, you won't want to put it down because you will keep wanting to know what happens next! I read this book on holiday, it is easy to read and never boring. You think you know how it is going to end, but it brings an entire new section.
