Summary of this Book...
17 year old Maggie's Mother is an government official Monster Hunter. Whilst other teens spend their time going to school, parties, and shopping, Maggie spends her busting ghosts and hunting zombies with her Mum. Maggie is desperate to pass her tests to become a fully fledged vampire hunter - but in order to do this she needs to lose her virginity (Apparently vampires are especially attracted to the blood of virgins....). The book charts Maggies attempt to integrate in to normal teen society, and find a mate, whilst juggling with the perils of being a hunter of weird and evil creatures.
This type of Book is good for...
Young adults who are in to the supernatural/vampire genres - I have said the book is 18+ as there is quite a lot of swearing and sexual references, although I suppose it depends on the teenager. I probably read books which were 18+ when I was under 18.....
I especially liked... | ||
The setting of the book - the idea of a normal society where "monsters" are an accepted phenomena and allowed to live as long as they behave themselves, I thought was a good idea!
I didn't like... | ||
The writing style - it sounded overly forced, as if the writer was trying to second guess every little thing a teen might want to read. There was far too much swearing and sexual innuendo in the book - I am not offended by these things of course, but it was a bit overkill and I felt more descriptive text could have been an improvement. I didn't feel the characters were especially well presented and didn't care much for what happened to them.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Make friends with a friendly zombie.
This Book made me feel...
Old..... | ||
