Summary of this Book...
The steady theme that runs throughout the book is how a lawsuit that no one could win affected the social lives of people for a long period of time in Great Britain's history.

The characters affected are all types of people; of all ages who were living in England in the time of history noted. The reader meets vagabond children, societies outcasts, lords and ladies, villains, military men, drunkards, battered women, orphans, servants, every type of social person known to be within the time the story is set.

The author, Charles Dickens has caused these characters to come alive with his descriptions of their physical, mental and spiritual values.

The book brings to the fore mystery, tradgety, joy and all human values of the times.
This type of Book is good for...
Historical looks at society.
I especially liked...
The indepth looks at different types of characters. I also liked the reconciliation of different parts of the story as it was quite long.
This Book made me feel...
Glad for some of the more fortunate characters and sad for some of the unfortunate characters. Horrified with the ignorance at that time in history and the inability some people had to see how lack of learning can affect societies as a whole.
The n/a of this Book...
Had a really good grasp of the way society swayed with the living conditions and environments it was forced to accept on a daily basis.
I recommend this Book because...
I liked the historical value and descriptive value.
Further Comments...
Women's rights and acceptance was shown as being affected by patricidal ideas and ideals depending on male belief systems in this historical time.
