Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is the 7th Season - we watched it on Netflix mailing disk. In this season, Louisa is in Spain, recovering from the brain surgery that saved her life. When she returns to Port Wenn, with James, she and Martin agree to live seperately. They seek marital counseling throughout the season. Also, Bert Large loses everything and has to start over again. He develops a strategy for making whiskey as he lives in a dilapadated carravan on other people's land. Buddy, the dog, continues to follow Martin around. I did not like the episode where Martin tries to kill Buddy or have him put down. Buddy is much more loveable than Martin is. Aunt Ruth is getting older and has an illness that requires her to take it easier, but she refuses to listen to Martin. In the end, Martin and Louisa reaffirm their affection for one another, but it isn't clear if they are getting back together. The usual Port Wenn disasters and illnesses flare up during the season.
I especially liked... | ||
Eileen Atkins as Aunt Ruth. I like her humorous deadpan input into the show.
I recommend this DVD because...
this show has beautiful scenery and is very funny in an offbeat sort of way. I much prefer a doctor like Martin to the dishonest medical practiioners I've seen in this country.
