"Finders keepers?" After Mouse finds a large shoe in the tall bamboo, he goes on a quest to find its owner. At last, Kangaroo admits to throwing away the shoe because it hurt his foot. He gives the shoe to Mouse, who makes it into his king-sized bed.

The rhyme is excellent. The story is sweet. I especially liked the quirky shoes the other animals wore, especially Spider's.

What happened to the other shoe?

I loved how Mouse was so honest about finding the shoe's owner instead of just keeping the shoe for himself.

The pastel illustrations are sweet and lovely, but the cover doesn't do the book justice, as it appears a bit faded, like it's an older book, but it's not.
