Mr. Horse gives Duck, Pig, Dog, and Cat a ride on his back. They want him to go faster and faster. When they squeal out, "Whoa! Stop! We're falling off!" he skids to a stop and they fly through the air, landing in a haystack. Although Mr. Horse is worried, he's quickly taken by surprise by, "Again!"

Ages 3 - 6

The repetition. Little ones love repetitive sounds, such as the "Clippity-clop. Clippity-Clop" and "Plop! Plop! Ploppity-plop!"

At first, I felt there wasn't much of a story going on, but then I realized this was written for toddlers thru kindergarteners. After reading it again, I liked it much better.
