This is a movie we got from Netflix mailing service. It is the story of Duncan, who is about 15 or so. He goes away to the beach on vacation with his mom (Toni Collette) and her fiance for the summer. The fiance (played by Steve Carrell) is obnoxious and nasty to Duncan and he cheats on his mother in front of him.

Duncan meets the manager of an amusement park named Owen, (Sam Rockwell) and he learns how to live and enjoy life from his first real friends that he works with after Owen hires him to help run the park.

Allison Janney plays the drunk neighbor and her daughter is interested in Duncan, much to his surprise.

anyone who likes a funny, heartwarming story.

Liam James as Duncan and Sam Rockwell as Owen. They were brilliant.

This is the same team of writer/directors who did the movie, The Descendants. I think they were either nominated for or won Oscars for that. They are very clever and the cast here is excellent.
