Summary of this Book...
This was an interesting bechind the scenes look at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I have nothing against Jay Leno at the present time. I think he is funny sometimes. This book spends a lot of time bashing David Letterman. Well, I guess that is to be expected, but I have to say this. Since the early 1980's I have loved David Letterman. He is edgy, grouchy and not your typical schmoozing talk show guy, but, to me, he is funnier than Jay Leno. He has let his politics come into his show, but that is part of the grouchy loveableness that is Dave. I guess you either love him or hate him. I have always admired him and I used to watch him with my Dad and my niece who are no longer alive. He will always be special to me. Jay Leno does make me laugh at times, but he is not my favorite. I know more people have watched him over the years, though because he is more likeable. But, I like grouchy, irritable nuts like Dave. What can I say? This book was entertaining, but not great.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who wants to know what it was like backstage at the Tonight Show during Jay Leno's time.
I especially liked... | ||
the part about Jimmy Carter. That was interesting.
The author of this Book...
is too defensive and nasty toward David Letterman. That rubbed my hide the wrong way.
