Summary of this DVD... | ||
This movie involves Queen Victoria after the death of her husband, Albert. She goes into mourning for a long time. Finally, a Scotsman, Mr. John Brown, is summoned to bring her horse. Mr. Brown and Queen Victoria form an unlikely friendship of devotion, which does not go over well with the press at the time or with some of her jealous subjects and son. This is a moving and lovely story of friendship between two very difficult people, played to perfection by Judi Dench and Billy Connolly. Gerard Butler has a small role as Mr. Brown's brother. He was much younger and skinnier at the time. | ||
