Summary of this Book...
There are a lot of books out now for the 50th anniversary of the assasination of JFK. I had read Mr. Swanson's books on Lincoln and found him to be a good storyteller. I was somewhat let down by this effort as I think that Bill O'Reilly's book, Killing Kennedy did a better job of telling the events in a dramatic fashion. I will let other readers be the judge of that, but I was surprised that Mr. Swanson did not footnote Mr. O'Reilly's book as some parts of the books seemed very similar to me.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone interested in the Kennedy assasination. I have visited Dealey Plaza and am very confused by what I saw. The area where it happened is so much smaller than it seems on TV. I believe Oswald did some of the shooting, but I do not see how he did all if it in that space at a moving target. But I am not a gun person.
I especially liked... | ||
the parts about Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy and all that she had to endure with dignity and grace.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read and watch more about the history of the time. I was alive then so it is very interesting to me.
This Book made me feel...
like I was back in time a bit.
The author of this Book...
does a good job, but if you are choosing one book to read, I would read Killing Kennedy instead - it was much more gripping reading.
