Summary of this Book...
This is the story of a family. The husband/father is sick and dying and the mother is killed in a tragic accident. The father ends up surviving and supposedly puts the family together after the kids are farmed out to Foster Care. This book did not get by my 25 page rule. After 25 pages, I just did not care. I found it to be predictible and dull. The maudlin aspect of it did not appeal to me at all. I just decided to not waste any more time on the book, which I thought seemed slapped together. I know this is a best selling author, but Mr. Hooves tells me that he usually does not write in this genre. I didn't care for it.
The author of this Book...
had a chance to get another reader here. Maybe he thought it was an easy chance to slap a story together to make money. I have no interest in reading any more of his stuff.
I don't recommend this Book because...
it seemed to focus a lot on suffering medically and then finding easy answers. I don't think that makes sense and the story fell apart for me very quickly.
