Summary of this Book...
This novel is a thriller. It is about a 12 year old girl named, Caitlin, who goes missing while she is walking the family dog. The novel starts 4 years later when the parents have a ceremony at the cemetery to symbolically lay her to rest. The publicity surrounding the ceremony causes a tidal wave of happenings that I will not give away in this review. The mother wants to move on, but the father wants to not give up hope. So, there is discord in the family when an astonishing event occurs.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys a suspenseful mystery thriller.
I especially liked... | ||
the fact that I didn't know what to expect. This explores an aspect of a missing child case that I had not considered. I will not give away what that is, but it was startling.
I didn't like... | ||
the mother or the mother's pastor friend. Ick. I will not give away the plot, but I found the mother's behavior very strange. I did not like the ending. It left a lot of questions I had unanswered. I guess, in that way it is a lot like life.
This Book made me feel...
like I was right there with the father almost all of the way.
The author of this Book...
knows how to tell an intriguing story.
I recommend this Book because...
it was good reading almost all the way through. I read it in a day and enjoyed it.
Further Comments... | ||
My pet peeve with books these days is weak endings. This book was perfectly fine, but the ending left me wondering a bunch of things. I still enjoyed the book. I am trying to be careful not to give away the plot elements.
