Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is the academy award winning film about Father Flanagan and his real life efforts to create a city for homeless and abandoned boys in Nebraska. The boys govern their own affairs and this story deals with a troubled boy (played by Mickey Rooney) who comes into Boys Town and is helped and saved by Father Flanagan and the other boys. Spencer Tracy won the Oscar for this movie playing the priest.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who likes a good hearted true story where there is kindness and hope.
I especially liked... | ||
Spencer Tracy as Father Flanagan.
I didn't like... | ||
Mickey Rooney. He had a tendency as a child to overact a bit and ham it up.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch more old movies. I did that to avoid the Innauguration junk that was on all day and night yesterday.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is good, but the movie is carried by Spencer Tracy.
I recommend this DVD because...
it is a heart warming story about the human spirit and how it can survive and thrive with kindness and hope.
