Summary of this Book...
This book discusses rhetoric in detail with many references to William Shakespeare, Churchill, Jesus, and many of our past presidents and senators, it also offers the author's opinions on how rhetoric can be used equally for exploitative and negative means as it is used for positive means.
This type of Book is good for...
This book has a lot of quality information for a writer who is looking to expand their knowledge on reaching the right audiences and getting them to really listen.

Once you've been introduced to the simple practices of rhetoric, as listed in this book, you also will find yourself capable of knowing when another is using it to win your favor.
I especially liked...
The references to religion, the Bible, Jesus and the translators who helped put the King James version of the bible together. The history behind it was fascinating and shows that these were true masters of rhetoric.
I didn't like...
Unfortunately, this book is somewhat disjointed as it jumps back and forth in historical references as does it bounce from topics like politics and global warming. These topics have loads of information that one may find enlightening; but if it is not a part that appeals to you, skip it and move on to the next.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Find more books that discussed rhetoric and the history behind it as it intrigued me.
This Book made me feel...
Half of me felt like I learned a lot, and the other half of me felt like I wasted my time reading the book as I had already been informed on a lot of the subjects and references made. However, that does not mean everyone else will not find this information completely new and insightful.
I recommend this Book because...
Everyone needs to learn and understand rhetoric on the basic principle of manipulation. All writers benefit greatly from this skill as well.
