Summary of this Book...
This is a book about the events leading up to President Kennedy's Assasination. I have read a lot of books about the subject, but this book provides fresh perspective from reporters who have thoroughly researched and found new (to me anyway) material. The authors have a way (as in Killing Lincoln) of making history come alive and following the victim (Kennedy) and the killer (Oswald) on paralell tracks that lead to tragedy. I found this to be riveting.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who is interested in the events leading up to the assasination in 1963.
I especially liked... | ||
the part about Greta Garbo being the last visitor to the White House. This is the first time I heard that. I also liked the explanation of what Kennedy did to save his men on PT 109 during WW II. I had always heard this referred to without hearing the whole story of it. It is an important aspect to understanding how Kennedy lived his life in such a reckless way.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read more about the time period.
This Book made me feel...
like I was experiencing it in the present time.
The author of this Book...
Both authors do a great job.
I recommend this Book because...
it gives a fresh perspective on history. It was a quick and riveting read.
