Summary of this Book...
These are transcripts of conversations that Jacqueline Kennedy had with Arthur Schlesinger in the eight months in 1964 after the assasination of President Kennedy. There are a lot of arcane references to people who are no longer well known.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone interested in Jacqueline Kennedy Herself rather than the history. It is revealing about her.
I especially liked... | ||
that she said she had low self esteem. That came as a shock to me. If she had it no wonder everybody I know has it, including moi.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that there wasn't anything much about the assasination. This was hyped as though there was.
This Book made me feel...
like this is still the famous woman I admire most of the 20th century. Why? Because she showed tremendous strength of character in the face of utter despair and horror.
The author of this Book...
just put the tapes on paper. She lets her mother's words speak for herself.
Further Comments... | ||
I was disappointed, but I still enjoyed this book because I am interested in Mrs. Kennedy and her perspectives on things. I was hoping to get some more insight into her views on the assasination.
