Summary of this Book...
The protagonist of the story, Chris Matlock, visits Matthew and Jenny Bontrager in the Amish Lancaster county. Chris, a veteran, is haunted by the horrors of war and suffers from PTSD. During the war, he has done the right thing by going after a guilty military man, but he has gained himself an enemy. With the Amish, Chris finds healing and stays longer to help Matthew with the harvest. Matthew's sister Hannah and Chris fall in love, but theirs is a difficult love, especially when someone from Chris's past sets out to get him. The novel's theme is searching for peace, and it has a major moral argument: acceptance and forgiveness. Then there are other moral arguments of a lesser degree, such as hard work, frankness, hospitality, simplicity, and humility. The characters are well-defined and different from one another. The descriptions are beautiful, and nothing is overwhelming. This is the second book in the Quilts of Lancaster series. Besides the story, the book has Amish recipes and other additions at the end of it.

Definitely recommend it, although for the scripture-weary, there may be a few sermonizing lines, but not more than necessary.
