Summary of this Book...
Two friends, Will and Hand, decide to travel the world to give away a substantial amount of money that Will has earned out of the blue. Will, the main character, is lonely and cannot erase the death of his friend Jack out of his mind.

Will and Hand have only a week to do this deed, but they have no plan or idea how to go about it. In addition, they don't have time to get visas. They only have their passports. Wherever they go, they do it spontaneously and haphazardly.

Theirs is a story of travel/adventure, but it ends up becoming an introspective, emotional, and mind-probing tale, since Will is haunted by the memories of Jack and his family as the plot keeps reverting to his backstory.

The writing technique is one of stream of conciousness with quite a bit of wit and irony thrown in.

The story is not a happy one as Will is a depressed man-child and has announced that his end will come soon.
This type of Book is good for...
reading if you're familiar with the writing of early existentialists, as it has traces of their macabre point of view.
I especially liked...
the writer's use of the language and the way of telling the ridiculous.
This Book made me feel...
as if the writer hit me with a bat. I guess I was shocked but not in a begative way.
The author of this Book...
Dave Eggers is the author of six previous books, including "Zeitoun," a nonfiction account a Syrian-American immigrant and his extraordinary experience during Hurricane Katrina and "What Is the What," a finalist for the 2006 National Book Critics Circle Award; also, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, What Is the What, How We Are Hungry, and Wild Things.

I recommend this Book because...
it is different, but read it at your own risk.
