Summary of this Book...
This is suspense/mystery. In 1984, three children (all 12 years old) go into a wooded area outside of Dublin. Only one is found alive, with his shoes full of blood, clinging to a tree. He grows up to become a police detective assigned to the murder squad. Fast forward to more modern times. A 12 year old is found murdered in the same area and this detective manuevers himself into the case in an effort to solve this and the older crime. He has no memory of what happened in 1984.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who likes a good mystery that is well written.
I especially liked... | ||
the way the characters are developed and the surprise resolution to the current crime.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that I was strung along on the 1984 case and it is not solved. It remains a mystery. I felt like part of my reading was a waste of time. I like for things to be solved in mysteries.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read The Likeness by the same author to see if she did any better with solving things in it.
This Book made me feel...
disappointed in the ending.
The author of this Book...
knows how to tell a good story and get you interested in the characters. I loved that it is set in Ireland.
I don't recommend this Book because...
the fact that the older case is set out and not solved really disappointed me as a reader.
