Absolute Boyfriend is a book about Riko Izawa, a high school girl who has been turned down one too many times and is beginning to think no guy could ever love her. After meeting a strange guy who works for a company named Kronos Heaven, Riko finds herself with a three-day trial of a 'Nightly Lover Figure', pretty much a coin operated boy- and he absolutely adores her.

Older teens, romance fans, anyone who enjoyed the Chobits series and wished her a girl lead character.

Honestly when I was given this book I blushed and hid it in my bookshelf. (The cover is not something you want coworkers or parents eyeing without an explanation, lol). After watching The Exorcist I read this manga to help take my mind of the movie and fell in love with it. Night is cute, protective, and it was good to see a book that used the robotic figure without makign it a sex toy- well, Night is supposed to be a sex toy, but Riko is a virgin and not about to lose that to just anyone.

I don't like the idea of expecting the person you are dating to exist just for you, show up whenever you need them, and know exactly what you are feeling- like Night does- but overall it's a cute story and I'm just finishing with book 2.

I went out and bought book 2.

Wishful. I wanted to do something romantic for my boyfriend- it's a good reminder that we can get caught up in our own things and need to take a moment to do something purely for those we love.

Yuu Watase's work is growing on me. The inspiration from myths and other works is clear, but the stories are very well done and creative. The characters capture your heart.

It's a fun, sweet story with great artwork and a lot of moments that will have you cheering.

If you're not a romance fan then this book is not for you.

I'd just have to tell you to give it a try. Flip through it online or at a book store and if you like it then buy it and show support. If not, then try something else by Yuu, her artwork is amazing!
