Summary of this DVD... | ||
The daughter of a rich family's chauffeur has a major crush on the playboy youngest son (David) of the family. He doesn't know she exists. She (Sabrina) travels to Paris to study and work as a photographer for a year and comes back transformed into an unrecognizable a sophisticated beauty. Although David is engaged, he becomes smitten with Sabrina. His older brother, the serious and dedicated Linus knows he must do everything in his power to keep David focused on his fiance. This is because she comes from a family about to embark on a multimillion dollar merger with the family business. While Linus is pretending to care for Sabrina, she falls for him and he starts to feel something for her too, in spite of all of his feelings to the contrary.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who wants to see Harrison Ford at the end of his leading man stage in movies. He is wonderful and funny and gentle as Linus. This version is much better than the original film which was made in the 1950s and starred Humphrey Bogart as Linus. Audrey Hepburn played Sabrina and Willian Holden played David in the original. In this one, Julia Ormond is Sabrina (Hepburn was better) and Greg Kinnear is the smarmy David. Lauren Holly plays his fiance.
I especially liked... | ||
OMG, Harrison Ford. However, Greg Kinnear manages to be very appealing and funny and cute as the smarmy David. Nancy Marchand is hilarious as their mama and Richard Crenna and Angie Dickinson play Lauren Holly's parents.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch it again and again. When I have my Harrison Ford movie extravaganzas, this is part of the trilogy of films that I enjoy.
This DVD made me feel...
like watching it again and again.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is outstanding. | ||
I recommend this DVD because...
it is wonderful. It wasn't a hit when it came out in 1995 and I do not know why. I thought it was much better than the original which is considered a classic film. Harrison Ford is much more appealing than Humphrey Bogart was as Linus.
Further Comments... | ||
My friend Joanne and I love this film and we talk about it periodically. I think anyone who enjoys a good romance will love this one.
