Summary of this Book...
I was very surprised at how personal The Love Spell is. Perhaps too personal. I’m no prude, but there were times I wanted to slam the book shut and yell, “T.M.I., T.M.I.!” I understand this is the story of her life, but at times I wanted to yell at her, “What on earth are you thinking?” Some of her choices seemed so obviously detrimental, but I guess as a third party it’s easier to see those moments than when you are actually living them. The “erotic” in this book really has nothing to with the abundant sex scenes. No, the erotica comes from Curott’s growing relationship with the Goddess, the God, and herself. The sex scenes, unfortunately, remind me of the desperation found in any monthly romance series. Quite frankly, I found some of them distracting, taking away from the quality of the rest of the book. They just weren’t necessary to the storyline. The story stands well on its own and doesn’t need the shock factor to draw attention to it. Curott is extremely open and I have to believe honest. The Love Spell is daring and bold.
