Summary of this Book...
A 12 year-old named Hunter is living the life of a pet and a servant. He is given to a 12-year-old girl named Mira, who has been brought up to believe that one human being can own another. Hunter, an Anasian (a creature that is half-animal and half-human and can resemble one more than the other at times), rebells against the life society deems he is worthy of, gains new friends, teaches valuable lessons, and quests for a world where there is no slavery.
This type of Book is good for...
Children in elementary school really enjoy this book.
I especially liked...
The book teaches kids, in a very gentle way, that slavery is wrong. Now, a lot of you might be thinking, "Of course it's wrong!" but modern day slavery is still going on and it does not matter what race, gender, nationality, or even age you are. This book has the main character being a cat-boy, but many of the other slaves are human, and are taught that no matter what you look like, you are just as good as everyone else.
I didn't like...
I thought the book did not teach very much about modern day slavery, but it is a good introduction for kids. Kids do not need books that are so realistic they start to fear the world around them, they just need gentle pushes towards the right and wrongs in society and this book delivers that.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Well, my sister wrote it so I've read different versions. I just wish she'd hurry and write a sequal.
The author of this Book...
Ravyn Crescent is very dedicatd to the book she has written as a high school student. She has built a website, collects fan art, and goes to conventions. She's made many friends and just adores the main character.
I recommend this Book because...
I'm sure it will make many children happy this Christmas. It's a great gift and people seem to really get attached to it.
