This type of Book is good for...

I especially liked... | ||
"The Dark Room" by Elaine Winer; "Mason City Ladies' Sewing Circle" by Mary Ann Wehler; "Traveling" by Tina Richardson.
I didn't like... | ||
"Rob Roy's Grave" by William Wordsworth.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
write poetry. | ||
This Book made me feel...
inspired. | ||
I recommend this Book because...
67 of the 68 poems were brilliant.
I don't recommend this Book because...
one of the poems was a bit disappointing. Although it was included as an example of the sort of versifying contestants should avoid, I didn't realize Wordsworth was capable of such bad writing. True, "Rob Roy's Grave" does have some most effective lines and could be described as an example of didactic verse at its best as well as its worst!
Further Comments... | ||
"Traveling" rates as a delightful anthology for everyone who enjoys the finest poetry. It's also a most useful book for those of us who contemplate entering poetry competitions.
