This book is a horror/thriller book that is based around the life of a woman who made some mistakes in her life when she was young and pays for them when she gets older, with her children suffering at the hands of the mad man who made her life a misery once upon a time. Evil lurks in the carnival and there is a code of silence with the carni folk that live amongst them.

A great amount of adventure and suspense. You think you may be able to predict what might happen, then another twist comes along.

Trying to work out what was going on and who was doing what, trying to find out the evil that she was running away from for all the years.

This book is not an 'epic' tale and generally Dean Koontz does a wonderful job creating imagery so there is nothing I really didn't like about it.

Go and write the screenplay to make it into a movie!

Like there are still so many great Thriller/Horror books out there and Dean is the master!
