James Sunderland receives a cryptic letter in the mail that was sent by his late wife Mary. She died of a terminal disease 3 years ago. However, James believes Mary didn’t die and questions the truth. Her letter tells him to return to the town of Silent Hill where they both shared their “Most precious memories.” Little does he know, James will soon step into a world of madness and will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

People who like scary games. This game has everything. A good plot, setting, characterization, plot twists, disturbing visuals, creepy demons, and much more.

How Pyramid Head (a monster that torments James) follows you around through out the entire game. Sometimes he would pop out of no where. This game used a perfect balance of realistic darkness, which is why this game is meant to be played during night. Every single thing that happens has a meaning behind it. There are tons of symbolism and theories going on during your journey. The plot twist at the end blew my mind away. Extremely bizarre and entertaining till the end.

Keep playing and get the other alternate endings. This is definitely one of those games you must play over and over again to understand what’s really going on since it can be confusing at times. I also wanted to buy the other parts to this amazing series.

Trust me, you won’t regret. This was one of the first mature games I played when I purchased a PS2 many years ago. The story will move you. The terrifying visuals, fog, monsters, and environments will do the same.

This is my favorite video game of all time. Even though games on the more current next generation consoles such as the PS3 & X-Box 360 have better graphics, this game still has impressive CG. If you like more action based games with gun shooting and straight forward story lines, then try out Resident Evil. If you enjoy a good twisted story of psychological horror mixed with sad emotions and not so much action fighting game play, then look no further. If people think video games are violent and pointless, then show this game to them. It’ll change their mind. I see it as a form of art. Silent Hill 2 is a true masterpiece. I highly recommend!!!
