The story is narrated by a man who lived through hell. His mother was very belligerent and deranged. Dave, (The main character) explains his years of abuse and his first time through foster care. You can feel the pain this man has suffered inside more and more through each page. He explains how his mother would become drunk, and how her temper almost cost Dave his life, as a child. His mother would force him to sleep in a cold basement, and she wouldn't let him eat. She broke his arm, she held him over a gas stove, and stabbed him. Not to count numerous other horrors.
He then goes on to tell how he was rescued. He explains how his father is almost afraid to stand up for him. In the sequels to this book, he goes onto further details of his abuse and his adolescence. It's a real eye opener of how some of the households in the world are behind closed doors.He also tells the reader how he was bullied and abused even after entering foster care. Not for the sensitive.

Those who are interested in helping others who have suffered through this pain. It is a big healer for those who have suffered abuse because he tells of how you can improve yourself, and help the pain ease away.

The mans honesty, and his wisdom. I just loved the whole book.

I liked it all.

I got his autograph and wrote him letters. I wanted to reach out to every single abused child out there in the world. My heart goes out to each and everyone.

Inspired to make a difference in other people's lives. The sufferers of abuse, and to cope with it.
