Summary of this Book...
From Back Cover: After years of living in Los Angeles, pretty young widow Karen Spellman and her two daughters are leaving urban chaos behind to return to the lush, verdant countryside of Karen's childhood, where she plans to marry her high school sweetheart. But their newfound bliss will soon turn to terror... *** Something sinister awaits the Spellmans. Something so hideous it seems not earthly, but spawned in hell. For here, long ago, amid placid rolling fields, a shadowy menace once stalked the innocent. Dormant, it waits-waits for summer's heat to shimme rover the valley in a suffocating wave; waits for the arrival of its perfect victim... *** And now, with the dizzying descent of a nightmare, Karen's homecoming will become a confrontation with evil, as she struggles to protect her vulnerable daughters from a menace that seems to rise form the very earth itself-a malign, preternatural force that must satisfy its gruesome thirst for its unsuspecting prey...

I love John Saul and think he's a terrific writer. This book is a great read.
I especially liked... | ||
The way he writes about his characters and he does not have as much background nonsense like the writes such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz. He's an easy read and his subjects are always fascinating.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I didn't want to put this book down, as with the rest of his work it's so interesting you just don't want to stop reading it even when you're done. It leaves you satisfied and hungry for more.
