Summary of this Book...
A group of writers is taken into seclusion where they are supposed to refine their masterpieces. Instead, they make themselves prisoners of their own horrific drama, all the while finding someone else to blame. The arc of the story is broken by dips into the short stories written by the characters---which reveal the dark pasts of those characters---and poems that shine a light on the characters' outside appearance.
I especially liked... | |||
...the way the story was laid out, with the poems and short stories. The skewed first person point-of-view was most enjoyable as well. Both gave the story a good dip into Modernism. What's that? I'll let C.J. enlighten you: "Understanding Modernism & Postmodernism"
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
...read it again from the beginning and watch out for foreshadowing.
The author of this Book...
...is also the author of Fight Club, which you may know now in its film version.
I recommend this Book because...
It's the darkest way I've ever felt good. Heh.
