Summary of this Book...
The Second book in the famed Tomorrow When the War Began Series. The Dead of Night is yet the second terrifying book. The six teenagers are living their nightmare out in Hell, the place they now have come to realize is their home. Looking for friends they soon come in contact with Harvey's Heroes, but are crushed by a horrible event. Joined by their friend Chris, they continue to attack their enemy's more and more. This includes attacks on patrols, and explosions. All described vividly. But another horrible tragedy crushes Ellie's World and she slowly begins to realize that their chances of survival are slim.
This type of Book is good for...
everyday, and any day. It's full of hope, struggle and courage. It is very emotional and is good for teenagers and adults. There is some romance but unless parents are extremely over protective then i don't see the problem with it.
I especially liked... | ||
how it connected with the first book perfectly. It starts off where the first ended and it contains the same problems, struggles and friendship that were in the first. It's definitely not a disappointment and it easily another of my favourite stories ever.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
sit right back down and read the third one. "A killing Frost". But first I just wanted to think of how I felt towards these books and the characters. Every sentence has a meaning and every paragraph creates a lesson. I felt the pain that Ellie felt and wanted to reach out and help her. It's that realistic.
This Book made me feel...
horribly sad. Full of anger, adrenaline and an incredible desire to make a difference in the world. This book has the effect that can make you cry, laugh. Throw things across the room you get so angry, and just feel warm and compassionate inside.
The author of this Book...
is John Marsden. An Australian man who has written many successful titles such as Tomorrow, when the war began and the rest of the series. He has also written the Ellie chronicles, and new series for Tomorrow, when the War Began Fans. Among these works he's published such books as So Much to Tell You, Staying Alive In Year Five, Letters from the inside, Out Of Time and many other wonderful stories. I especially recommend Winter and Checkers. His website is www.JohnMarsden.com
I recommend this Book because...
it's an amazing story full of love and friendship. It has what every teenager looks for in a book and it is amazing that anyone could write something so appealing to all ages. Adults and children read them; although they were aimed for teenagers they have the ability to pull anyone into it.
Further Comments... | ||
The setting in this book is a sanctuary the call hell, and it's described with wonderful meaning. The plot is perfect, the characters never lose their form, and you know the characters like you know your own best friends. Every book is good, but this book is great. I've never been more confident in a reader’s enjoyment.
