Summary of this Book...
A barbarian named Jordan finds himself dead -- a ghost haunting a castle full of ghosts. He soon makes friends with the princess Ivy, a very nice little girl with way too much time on her hands, and a knack for always getting herself in trouble. She asks him to tell her a story to pass the time. (She was grounded) He tells her his story minus the adult parts that she shouldn't know yet, and it goes like this:

Jordan was out looking to be a hero - a very noble calling, to be sure. But he wasn't haveing any luck finding any damsels or dragons to slay, so he went to the castle Roogna. There, he was tricked into a contest was being waged by two magicians - one good, one evil. These magicians needed a hero to carry out their contest to see who would be the next king, and he was chosen. This contest consisted of a bunch of spells and counter-spells, which were there to keep him from finding the treasure and bringing it back to the castle.

Well, after going through a bunch of the spells he finally found the treasure, Well, after a very long story, it turns out that he was tricked, and ended up being killed and buried in pieces so that he couldn't come back to life.

This story upsets the princess Ivy, and she vows to bring him back to life. With the help of an old magician, she finds his body and brings him back to life -- and they are both in for a surprise when that happens.

I especially liked...

How Jordan tried to get out of the messes he kept putting himself into. I loved how the story just ran together. I could not put it down when I first read it. To this day it is one of my favorites.
I didn't like...
I does not start with Jordan right away but it has a chapter of how Ivy gets him to talk.

This Book made me feel...
Like I wished I could go back in time and be a sword swinger.
The author of this Book...

Is Piers Anthony. He is a genious. I sort of don't like his recent stuff, it gets to muddled up but you should give all his Xanth and {bIncarnations of Immortality series a chance.

I recommend this book because...

If you love action and adventure and good ols fashioned barbarian swordsplay then this is the book for you.
