The bad guy, Darken Rahl. You see how he treats his subjects and how it was the twisting of what they thought was supposed to be good.

Find the second and read it. There was an extra chapter which was a preview to the second that made a person drool if they absolutely loved the first.

Shocked when secrets were revealed, Horrified when violence happened, Engrossed in the story.

Terry Goodkind created a book that allowed him to show humanity at their best and their worst.

I founded this book on a shelf and I loved the characters. I recommended it to others and they loved it as well. It was a great book.
