Summary of this DVD... | ||
A beautifully shot version of Tolkien's classic tale about The One Ring. Devotees of the books will see the omissions, but they can be easily forgiven. The artistry that went into the production of this film is fantastic. The film stands on its own- although be warned- if you have not read the books or seen the movie previously- it ends abruptly. But, don't be worried, the follow-up film of The Two Towers will be on DVD by Xmas. So sit back and lose yourself in a world of elves, dwarves, wizards and wonderful creatures called hobbits.
This type of DVD is good for...
Fantasy nuts or anybody who loves a tale well told. Lots of action and beautiful cinematography. Parents should consider before buying for pre-teens. No blood, but intense violence and graphic ghouls (the ring-wraiths scared me silly)
I especially liked... | ||
Cinematography, music and art production. Of course, I love the story. But I always have.
I didn't like... | ||
Tom Bombadil is missing entirely! It wont matter to novices, but I cared.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Watch it again! and see the Two Towers ASAP.
