Summary of this Book...
A boy named Stanley Yelnats, who always seems to have bad luck. His father claims there's a curse on the family, but only the men. Stanley ends up going to a juvenile detention camp for a crime he didn't commit. When he arrives, no one is friendly to him, and he's pushed around by other people. After some time, he starts to make friends with the other boys there, one of which, dubbed "Zero" by the others, becomes his best friend. He soon earns the name "Cave Man", and finds something that leads to the greatest and most life-changing experience ever!
I especially liked... | ||
The way everything was intertwined together, and the many different stories told throughout the book, that all have to do with Stanley in the end.
I didn't like... | ||
What's not to like? I loved the "hole" thing! hahaha...
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read it again! There are so many things involved in the plot, that it's easy to forget or overlook certain details that are important!
This Book made me feel...
Hot... it's set in a desert!
The author of this Book...
Is very talented. His interwoven sub-plots were very interesting, and held my interest for the entire book.
I recommend this Book because...
It's not all that long, and it's exciting! I enjoyed it, and would hope that other people would read the book, before they saw the movie!
I don't recommend this Book because...
It's not for everyone. It may interest some people, but I know that not all people like this kind of story.
Further Comments... | ||
The book was very good. Besides the Harry Potter series, this has to be my favorite book! And, the movie stuck to the book very well, so if you don't want to take the time to read it (sigh) the movie would be ALMOST as good.
