This book is a collection of poems written by Gaius Valerius Catullus who lived approximately from 84-54 BC. The contents of the poems are diverse. Some greatly satirical, some outlandish, some are excellently contrived and presented tales and some brazen.

I liked the cut throat attitude found in some of the poems, but I especially liked the epic poetry. I'm not going to write what the book contains because the reader who doesn't know what to expect will be that much more enthralled.

When I finished this book I wanted to work on my epic poem.

This book made me laugh at times and cry at other times. I was touched by the love stories and angered at the brazen societal behaviors portrayed in some of the poems.

The structure of the poems is supurb, the rhyme and meter are excellent.
