Summary of this Book...
Set in Georgetown, near Washington D.C., the Exorcist is a novel of immense terror. A demon is awakened and possesses a young girl of about the age of twelve. The girls behavior begins to change. She has fits of rage and spurts out obscenities that she had never been exposed to before. She begins to do lewd acts such as masturbation with crucifixes and self mutilation. The doctors do not have a clue as to what could be wrong with her. Finally they suggest an exorcism. The novel is intense and incredibly mind bending.
I especially liked...
This novel makes you think while delivering some hard-core horror to you. It had some very good themes.
This Book made me feel...
This book is highly creepy. There is some kind of realism about it that makes you think people can actually be possessed by demons.
The author of this Book...
William Peter Blatty. His other demonic book is called the Legion, and is the sequel to the Exorcist.
I recommend this Book because...
A horror must. Also an occult must. This book is highly informative. Anthropology and Religious buffs have got to read this.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Some themes are strong and are not recommended for the faint of heart.
