Summary of this Book...
I adore fairy tales, myths, and legends. Imagine my pleasure at discovering a book full of previously unknown tales!!! In truth I had only heard of two or three of these stories. They range from the far reaches of the earth. Tales from Siberia share pages with those from Africa and Native America. However, they all have one thing in common. In each tale, the heroines are the women! A few examples of tales you find here: The Corpse Watchers - Ireland Marichka - Gypsy The Vampire Skeleton - Iroquois The Huntress - Inuit A Rani's Revenge - Inia The Leapard Woman - Liberia The "Pink Pearl" Prince - Iran
I especially liked... | ||
The tales of magic and mystery mixed with women of cunning and style. The women and girls in these stories are role models.
I didn't like... | ||
One or two of the stories are told in dialect which can be a little difficult to read and enjoy. Luckily, there are so many stories here that those one or two didn't matter much.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Share the stories with people I know.
This Book made me feel...
Like a child again - full of wonder!
I recommend this Book because...
These tales are little-known, but are wonderful and should be read.
