Summary of this Book...
What archeaological finds can tell us about the historicity of the Old Testament. Where is the it wrong? Where is it right? Who wrote what parts of the Old Testament? And why?
I especially liked...
All my questions were answered. I love the way they start off by summing up the Biblical story and then showing what archeology says about it. It made it readable for people who haven't read the Bible or are not familiar with the Old Testament. The authors also do a good job in defusing a lot of the confusion over names and places in the Bible through specific writing and maps.
I didn't like...
After the story of Ahab and Jezebel, my interest declined. I am not sure whether it's because I liked the Ahab and Jezebel story better or what. Towards the end, however, my interest increased. I think it may just be my personal preferences for certain stories in the Bible.

Read the Old Testament. Ironically, after reading all of the stories, I just wanted more.
I recommend this Book because...
I think many people who identify themselves as Jewish or Christian will be exceedingly intrigued by this book. The first part discussing the Patriarchs will probably be the best for most. I think it is important to realize why this piece of literature well-remembered and displays such a unique genius. It isn't for the historical documentation of certain events but the amazing story of community and hardship.
