Summary of this Book...
a series of conversations with God, during which the author posed questions and felt the answers being dictated through him. The result is an engaging, funny, probing and unique book which stays with you long after your first reading. This is a life companion book: one you will keep and share with close friends. One to refresh your perspective on life and give you courage.
I especially liked... | ||
the format. It kept your interest and also related directly to questions you may have had about people's relationship to God. The format keeps the book moving and enables better retention.
I didn't like... | ||
the occasional references to Christianity and Jesus Christ. It limits the book, but I respect the author's privilege to do this.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
laugh, dance, and hug somebody. It was like someone had finally understood all the questions I had and answered them in a way I could relate to and understand.
This Book made me feel...
joyful. Suddenly, the mist cleared and it seemed so clear why we are here and what we must do while we are here.
The author of this Book...
does not give a great deal of information about his background, except to say that he has made many mistakes, but has constantly strived to find out about God.
I recommend this Book because...
it will make you question all your assumptions about God and how we should behave. It consolidates in an understandable way relationships among all religions and the essentials.
I don't recommend this Book because...
it is somewhat repetitive and not necessarily written in a logical order.
Further Comments... | ||
This book is part one, which I have only found in hardcover. I feel it is a book that will be read again and again and loaned to others so I feel it is worth it. Books 2 and 3 are available in softcover and are interesting. There is also a book of meditations which I have not read and a more recent book , Communion with God.
