This is the first book in the Mike Hammer series written by Mickey Spillane. It shows the reader what happens after Mike Hammer's friend is killed. Mike goes on a personal hunt to fine the murderer. He follows leads into places of ill repute, is shot at, has flirtations, is tempted by beauty, and finds along his journey a trail of corpses.

It has a who done it mystery story and characters who are intriguing.

Readers who enjoy mysteries, crime, suspense, adventure, and interesting characters will enjoy this book.

The writing style was interesting because it reminded me of the TV show Dragnet.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

I wanted to find other books in the Mike Hammer series.

When I finished this book felt satisfied and intend to read more of the books in the series.

This book kinda reminds me of a report or journal telling the story of events important to the person experiencing them.

The writing style is a refreshing change from the modern writing styles.

For some readers the writing style may be boring and the pace of the story might be too slow.

I want to read more of these books.
