Summary of this Book...
Edward Grinnan editor-an-chief of Guideposts Magazine shares with the reader his life with dogs especially Milly. Many of the dogs who were in his life are introduced and their stories are told, but the dog who stands out the most in this book is Milly. He also tells about his personal life, marriage, the challenges of addiction, working at Guideposts, and more.

All of these life experiences with the dogs taught him valuable lessons he could apply to life. He discovered meaningful treasures through how the dogs responded to each day, and the people they interacted with, and also saw how dogs care for each other and their human friends and family.

Milly stands out in my mind but the stories of the other dogs are valuable reading. these dogs had incredible personalities, and unique skills, and did many tasks to help their family members. Dog lovers will get to know these dogs in this book.
This type of Book is good for...
Animal lovers especially dog lovers will be introduced to wonderful canines who change lives in positive ways, make the reader chuckle at funny incidents, and show how a dog can change a life, even save a life, and keep the reader wanting to know more about them.
I especially liked...
Milly is the dog I remember the most. Although the other dogs are mentioned in short stories, Milly is a dog I can picture in my mind. I enjoyed learning about how she went from being scared to walk in the city to being able to relax and enjoy her walk.
I didn't like...
These dogs in this book don't live long enough. Dogs generally don't live long enough. It was sad to read about them leaving this world.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to be with my dogs, pat them, and tell them they are good dogs.
This Book made me feel...
It helped me to feel closer to God and realize these special creatures are precious gifts from God that I should cherish and be grateful for my dogs, my precious blessings.
The n/a of this Book...
The best part of this book is everything because it works well to show the marvelous relationships between humans and dogs. The writing style is easy to read and kept me interested in reading.
I recommend this Book because...
I learned a lot about how the human and animal relationships work together for each character's benefit especially when it comes to dogs being man's best friend. Meeting each dog and learning about their lives with their humans is like being a fly on the wall viewing a spectacular drama while enjoying visiting with everyone.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If the reader is easily saddened and tears flow quickly I recommend having a box of tissue available. Even through tears, I think this book is a very, very good read that is an incredible journey worth taking.
Further Comments...
I am glad I got to meet these dogs through the words of this book. It felt like I could reach to pet them. I could see in my imagination the scenes, characters, actions, and view details of nature as they enjoyed every day they had with their humans.
