This book mainly tries to encourage us to keep going when resistance (according to the writer) comes from everywhere and anywhere, and rears its ugly head. It leads us through the roadblocks of writer's block. It demands us to sit down and write, especially when we're not in the mood. The writer shares with us it's when that name-sayer, which we all have within us, flares up, it is then when resistance: evil itself, is trying to steal away our most creative writing time.

According to the writer, Steve Pressfield, resistance is implacable, impersonal, invisible, internal, and insidious. Resistance never sleeps, plays for keeps, is fueled by fear, and recruits allies. Just to name a few.

The first part of the book discusses many different forms of resistance. Part Two cheers you on to break through them all. He also explains that we're all already professionals. He then goes on to drive that point home to us and put us more at ease.

Part Three is entitled "Beyond Resistance", The Higher Realm. Here he teaches us to invoke the muse, becoming a visionary, making a start and to keep going.

Helping artists overcome any type of blockage they may have.

The tough guidance

It spoke to me in small areas, but I didn't find this book to be for me.
