Summary of this Book...
This book combined Lizbeth and Felicia's stories in a new way and brought the sisters much closer together through a series of serious trials and wild occurrences. I devoured it and am kind of sad that it's over. I want more of this story. From Amazon: " #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author returns with the fifth installment in the bestselling Gunnie Rose series as sisters Lizbeth Rose and Felicia as well as brother Eli and Peter, are reunited in Texoma only to break apart before the Wizard’s Ball held in San Diego, which will determine all their fates. Following the murderous events of the “gripping…thrill-ride” (Karin Slaughter) Serpent of Heaven, Lizbeth Rose is awaiting the arrival of her sister Felicia and her husband’s younger brother Eli in Texoma. Both needed to leave the seat of the Holy Russian Empire in San Diego after Felicia’s burgeoning wizardly power in death magic became the reason for kidnapping and assassination attempts from her mother’s family of high-powered wizards in Mexico. Yet bad news has traveled ahead of them, as Eli is called back to San Diego, taking Peter along with him, splitting them apart in more ways than one as their enemies’ plans for revenge come to fruition. In this fifth installment in the beloved and bestselling Gunnie Rose series, #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Charlaine Harris has crafted a family drama of murderous and magical thrills. This type of Book is good for...
People who like adventure, strong female lead characters, interesting stories, magical stories, alternate history, historical, and / or young adult stories.
I especially liked... | ||
Lizbeth, Felicia, and all the gold folks in the story. I felt like I was living the adventure along with them. Harris really drew me in to this world she created. I literally cried and laughed out loud at different points in the book.
I didn't like... | ||
Overall, I loved the book. Just two things bugged me. The reason for Eli and Peter leaving being so vague for so long and didn't strike me as powerful enough to have compelled them to go without explaining. I thought, from the Amazon description, that the Wizard's ball event would be part of this book but I guess that will wait for the next installment in the series.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Read more! I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series. I'd also like to learn to write her way. Her stories really engage me.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was living the adventure (good and bad) along with Felicia and Lizbeth.
I recommend this Book because...
It was an excellent read. Fast paced, interesting, just enough descriptions and emotion to get me involved without boring me.
I don't recommend this Book because...
There was some extreme violence.
