Summary of this Book...
This is a steamy paranormal romance with a lot of interesting features, including a magical heroine who is a marine biologist and a hero who works for Interpol. It's the third in Feehan's Drake sisters series. The whole series is based on seven magical sisters who, according to an old family prophecy, will find true love one at a time, from oldest to youngest. The sisters have different abilities and Abbey's is being able to tell whether someone is telling the truth and to command the truth with her voice. The sisters' powers are amplified when they work together. The sisters and their heroes are different enough so that, at least for the first three books, the stories are varied and interesting.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like paranormal romance, swimming with dolphins, spy stories, family drama, magical elements, and. or suspense.
I especially liked... | ||
I love the sisters and how they're so supportive of one another. I liked Abbey's character a lot, though I couldn't really relate to much of her except her love of dolphins and deep caring for animals and people. I liked her hero, though the thing that caused them to be separated seemed illogical to me... it didn't fit with the rest of his character. But we're all flawed. I guess it's possible. Besides that one issue, he was perfect. I liked having Joley and who I suspect will be her hero introduced more, and the tension between Hannah and Jonas is growing too. She does a good job of working in each of the sisters in just the right amount to keep you in the story. My favorite parts of the books were the scenes with the dolphins. I also loved aunt Carol, who knew how to have fun and learned to live without guilt.
I didn't like... | ||
Feehan gets really deep into the sexy scenes and, because of my religious beliefs, I skip most of those, just skimming for dialogue. Though I know some of my girlfriends prefer that part of the book the most so if that's you, you'll love these books. Some of the emotional stuff could have been a lot more concise and still gotten the point across.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Swim with dolphins! Not really possible right now but maybe one day in the future
This Book made me feel...
Like I was part of Abbey's family, maybe a cousin or something, hearing her story and living it through her eyes.
The author of this Book...
"Christine Feehan is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Carpathian series, the GhostWalker series, the Leopard series, the Shadow Riders series, and the Sea Haven novels, including the Drake Sisters series and the Sisters of the Heart series." from Amazon.
I recommend this Book because...
It was a fun and exciting read.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It gets pretty x-rated at times. There is some serious violence too.
